Welcome to the Move Early Learning Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page—your go-to guide for all things related to our service! This page has been thoughtfully created to provide clear, helpful answers to the most common questions families ask about enrolment, daily routines, programs, and what to expect from our nurturing learning environment. It reflects our commitment to open communication, family partnerships, and quality care—supporting National Quality Standard (NQS) Quality Area 6: Collaborative partnerships with families and communities and Quality Area 7: Governance and leadership. Whether you're a new family or already part of our Move community, we’re here to make sure you feel confident and connected every step of the way.

  • Move Early Learning is open Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, excluding public holidays.

  • You can start the enrolment process by visiting our website or dropping by the centre at 17–19 Fullston Way, Holt. Our leadership team is here to guide you through every step, including helping you apply for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS).

  • Please bring a named water bottle, at least one change of clothes, any comfort items your child may need, and formula or breast milk if applicable. We provide nappies, wipes, meals, and bed linen.

  • We offer a flexible orientation tailored to your family’s needs. This includes short visit where you and your child can spend time in the room, meet educators, and begin forming relationships before starting full days.

  • We focus on building secure, trusting relationships from day one. Educators take time to understand your child’s routines and preferences, and we maintain open communication with families to ease the transition process.

  • Our educators hold a mix of Diploma, Certificate III, and Bachelor of Early Childhood Education qualifications. Our team members hold current First Aid, CPR, and Child Protection Training.

  • We use the Kinder M8 app to share updates, photos, learning observations, and messages. Families are also encouraged to chat with educators at drop-off and pick-up times.

  • Our programs are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and tailored to each age group—from sensory play to inquiry-based learning. We focus on the whole child: mind, body, and soul.

  • We celebrate a wide range of cultural events throughout the year and reflect the unique backgrounds of our families in our daily routines. Our Tree House space is often used for community celebrations and shared events. We also will have a local walks program and collobaration with local community events and visitors to the service.

  • We follow each child’s individual sleep needs and home routines. Comfortable beds, calming music, and a quiet environment are provided. All linen is supplied and regularly cleaned. We have a 30 minute rest policy across the service where all children have quiet time even if they don’t sleep to relax and reset ready for the rest of the day.

  • If your child becomes unwell or injured, you will be notified immediately. First aid will be administered by qualified staff, and you may be asked to collect your child if they are not well enough to stay. Our team will also provide you with an illness, injurt, incident form to be completed and signed by you upon pick up

  • Yes, we follow SunSmart guidelines and Move ELC is Certified as a Sun Smart School. Sunscreen is applied regularly, hats are required for outdoor play, and we schedule outdoor time during safer UV periods when possible.

  • Yes. Our educators work closely with families to support toilet learning in a consistent and positive way, following each child’s readiness and family preferences.

  • We cater to all allergies, dietary, and cultural food requirements. Our cook and educators are trained in food safety and allergy management. Please ensure your child’s medical and dietary information is kept up to date and you will be required to provide the service with an action plan and work with us to complete a Risk minimisation Communication Plan.

  • If you're running late, please call the centre to let us know. Late fees may apply after closing time, but we always prioritise your child’s safety and wellbeing while they are in our care. If someone who is not on the pick up list needs to collect you just need to send us an email with their full name and address and we will ask them for id upon pick up.

  • Yes! We welcome prospective families to book a tour of Move Early Learning. This gives you the opportunity to meet our team, explore the learning environments, and ask questions. Just head to our website www.moveearlylearning.com.au

  • We use positive guidance strategies, modelling empathy and respect. Our educators help children recognise and manage their emotions through connection, consistency, and co-regulation.

  • Yes. We work in partnership with families and external support services to provide inclusive care and tailored learning plans that meet each child’s individual needs.

  • Yes, daily fees still apply if your child is absent due to illness, holidays, or personal reasons, as your child’s place is held for them during that time.

  • Yes, fees are charged on public holidays if it falls on your child’s regular booked day. This is standard across most early learning services, as staff wages and operating costs still apply.

  • You can notify us through the Kinder M8 app, by giving the centre a quick call, or letting our team know in advance if it’s a planned absence (such as a holiday).

  • Yes, CCS covers up to 42 allowable absence days per child, per financial year. This includes sick days and public holidays. Additional days may be covered if you provide supporting documentation, such as a medical certificate.

  • The Australian Government allows 42 absence days per financial year, per child, without needing documentation. Beyond this, additional absences can still be covered under special circumstances (e.g. illness with a doctor’s certificate).
